Chinese calligraphy is considered an art for aesthetic appreciation and study. Chinese calligraphy started as early as the Shang and Chou Dynasties (1800-249 BC). The inscription shown in the Oracle Bone and Bronze Vessels had showed a marked aesthetic consciousness. Later, another format of inscriptions was done on the stones. The oldest stone inscriptions can be traced back to the Spring and Autumn period (722-481 BC). The masculine or unbridled writing styles made these Bronze and Stone Inscriptions highly valued calligraphic treasures. Utilizing this unique style of Bronze Inscription, an elegant display of Chinese calligraphy 'Fortune and Blessing' is presented here. This piece has been produced in resin, against a background of various calligraphic styles of the Chinese word 'fortune', protected beneath glass.
